Pentecost Sunday

This Sunday marks the Feast of Pentecost, which is the culmination of our Easter celebration! At Pearl, this is one of our most precious services together. Many of us wear red to celebrate the tongues of fire that fell upon Jesus’ first followers and we light candles as we remember that the Divine isn’t just out there in the cosmos but wonderfully inside us all, animating our lives with hope, creativity, mercy, and ever increasing, life. Although we can’t celebrate in-person this year, we will be moving the second half of Sunday’s service to Zoom, so that we can see some of the children we pray over, partake in Eucharist together, and light candles as we ask the Spirit of God to fill our lives and this whole world with love.

Here are a few details you'll need to know for this special service!

  • Join us as usual at 10am at our livestream, which will be linked at www.pearlchurch.org

  • Halfway through the service, we'll invite you to join a Zoom meeting room, so we can see each other and participate together in praying over the children, Eucharist, and then close the service with a special Blessing of Light.

  • You're invited to wear red, which is traditional for Pentecost Sunday

  • We encourage you to have a candle for each person and a lighter or matches handy so you can participate in the Blessing of Light

  • We'll take Eucharist together; you can use anything you have on hand to eat and drink!

We'll send the links to both parts of the service out to our mail list on Sunday morning so you can easily access them.
