Meets in the church office following the service. As a follow-up to our previous discussion on Wendell Berry’s novel, Jayber Crow, we will dive into Berry’s poetry, by discussing A Timbered Choir. A Timbered Choir is a collection of Berry's Sabbath poems dating from 1979-1997 and they grow from his conviction that, “The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet; they break forth into singing.” (Isaiah 14:7) Thus, these poems derive from Berry’s Sunday morning walking meditations, and they display the kind of soulful reflection that springs out of leisure and solitude.
