ICHRP-US Faith Working Group - Weaponization of the Law in the Philippines

In the Philippines, faith communities take a leading role in resisting the authoritarian government led by President Marcos Jr. These leaders often face unjust charges as they are flagged as terrorists for standing against the political structure that is oppressing their people. One such person is Reverend Glofie Baluntong. This Thursday, February 26 from 5-6:30pm you can join online to hear her story of unwavering faith and commitment to justice. This event is hosted by the International Coalition for Human Rights in the Philippines. To learn more about them visit: https://ichrp.net

East County Faith Vigil

  • Covenant Presbyterian Church (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Hi Pearl family! I'm Mindy Eaton-Lush. Along with having been a part of this community for over 20 years, I am also a local grassroots organizer working in solidarity alongside migrants. As some of you likely already know, East County has been one of the communities in our state greatly impacted by the recent upscaling of ICE activity that has brought so much fear, separation and uncertainty to our (im)migrant neighbors. This Wednesday, December 17th, you are invited to join in solidarity with the families and friends most impacted by ICE raids, detentions and deportations in East County at Covenant Presbyterian Church. The faith vigil will be from 6-8pm and the church address is 18630 SE Division St, Gresham. Feel free to contact me for more details or to learn of other opportunities to support migrants in this week leading up to International Migrant's Day on December 18th.
