What We Believe
We are a non-denominatial Christian church that seeks to be firmly grounded in the historic faith. Our doctrine spells out this faith.
Our Doctrine
We believe that the Bible is God’s word and is definitive for shaping the church’s belief and practice for the purpose of truly worshipping and making disciples. Historical orthodoxy, as expressed in the Apostles' Creed, directs our reading of the Bible. The form of the Apostle's Creed highlights the Trinitarian nature of Christian belief and its content grounds our theology in the story of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord:
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended to the dead.
The third day he arose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven,
he is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic* church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.
* catholic meaning universal.
