About Us

Jesus often spoke in parables. A parable is like a riddle. It is meant to create pause and reflection. In the gospel of Matthew chapter 13, Jesus tells this parable: "The kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls; on finding one pearl of great value, he went and sold all that he had and bought it."

What does this parable mean? What is Jesus saying? What is he getting at?

The riddle is this: Jesus is the world's king and this king is renewing all things through his bride, the church. By saying yes to his reign and rule and way, we become fully and gloriously human–renewed; image bearers of the king, tasked with reflecting his powerful, healing, transformative love into this world with our lives.

We want to truly worship and follow after Jesus. We purpose to give our lives away to participate in his kingdom–a pearl.

I appeal to you therefore, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. – Romans 12:1
